Steffen spent 10 years with Volkswagen Group, in the top five-percent management circle. He served as Head of Global Marketing, Sales and Aftersales Strategy, responsible for new retail contracts and group customer data strategy. Previous roles at VW include Head of Strategy, reporting to the President of SEAT, SA; and Principal consultant with Volkswagen Consulting, where Steffen worked on light commercial vehicle strategy, ASEAN strategy, and reorganization of the UK national sales company.
Prior to VW, Steffen spent a decade serving as a top management consultant in the automotive and manufacturing industries with Arthur D. Little and Capgemini.
Steffen earned his Master of psychology degree from Humboldt University Berlin before working as a research fellow in human factors design on offshore oil rigs and nuclear power operations in the pursuit of his Doctorate from University of Technology Berlin.
