General Physics Awarded Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Task Order

Elkridge, MD. August 17, 2010 –Global performance improvement solutions provider General Physics Corporation (GP), the operating subsidiary of GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE: GPX), announced today that its Homeland Security and Emergency Management group was recently awarded Homeland Security training and exercise work by Northrop Grumman Corporation under a task order with the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) National Exercise Division (NED).

GP is one of several subcontractors supporting the prime contractor, Northrop Grumman, with the Regional Exercise Support Program (RESP). The Northrop Grumman Team was awarded the RESP Task Order in May, 2010 to support homeland security preparedness exercises in the 28 states and U.S. territories in FEMA Regions VI through X (generally, those states and territories west of the Mississippi River).

Wayne Tripp, GP’s Program Manager for Homeland Security and Emergency Management programs, states, “GP has supported responder preparedness efforts for DHS and its predecessors since 1998. Our team of exercise practitioners has worked with many of these states as well as with FEMA. We are excited about working with DHS and the Northrop Grumman team to assist states and jurisdictions in improving their readiness for emergencies of any type.”
