General Physics Corporation Receives Two Prestigious Brandon Hall Learning Awards

Elkridge, MD. November 19, 2010. – Global performance improvement solutions provider General Physics Corporation (GP), the operating subsidiary of GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE: GPX), today announced that it has been honored with two Brandon Hall Learning Awards: a Gold Award for Best Custom Content and a Bronze Award for Best Learning Team. The winners are listed at www.brandon-hall.com

The Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Awards are presented annually by Brandon Hall Research, one of the leading research firms in training and development. Now in its sixteenth year, the Awards program showcases exceptional work in the use of learning technology. A total of 214 entries were originally submitted. The entries were evaluated by a panel of veteran, independent senior judges.

Option Six, acquired by GP in 2009, won an award in the Best Custom Content category for developing three courses for Fort Hill Company, a provider of learning transfer support technology. The “How to Get Your Money’s Worth from Training and Development” program provides an efficient way for managers and participants to work together to increase the benefit of training. The program has two complementary modules: one for the employee scheduled for training and one for his/her manager. An online form facilitates a pre-training discussion between participant and manager—one of the most powerful drivers of learning and learning transfer. This Brandon Hall honor marks the seventh award earned by Option Six and their second Gold.

GP also won another award in the Best Learning Team category for work performed for a Fortune 500 global IT company. GP developed “The Partner Learning Experience” program in order to simplify the learner experience through “one-click” registration and content launch processes. Benefits of this program for the customer included cost reductions, IT infrastructure simplification, integrated marketing messages, enhanced channel capability measurements and increased participation in offered learning.

Don Duquette, GP’s Executive Vice President, Learning Solutions Group stated, “The Brandon Hall Best Custom Content Award continues to demonstrate the strength Option Six brings to our overall custom development and pharmaceutical company learning and development capabilities. The Fort Hill courses are used by over 100,000 participants and several major pharmaceutical companies. We’re also very honored to be selected for a Best Learning Team Award. The rollout of The Partner Learning Experience required a global team of learning professionals to work together throughout all phases of the implementation to ensure a thorough and successful end result.”
